To support the monthly activities of the 2008 Alberta Traffic Safety Calendar, a Communications Resource Toolkit has been developed by the Traffic Safety Communications Committee. This toolkit is to assist stakeholders develop communications vehicles in their community to support the monthly traffic safety topic. It is anticipated that stakeholders will support the overall topics in the monthly format as described in the calendar to provide a cohesive and consistent message to road users across Alberta. A consistent approach will also assist in media monitoring and evaluation of the Traffic Safety Plan topics and calendar.

The media is the primary source for information on what is happening in communities throughout Alberta. When it comes to traffic safety, the media can play a critical role in providing information to Albertans.
