Inline is taking his friend Lenny to the store to buy a pair of in-line skates.
When they're at the store, Inline makes sure his friend:
Has a clean pair of socks
Chooses skates that give his ankles strong support
Is embarrassed because he's a beginner
Buys the first skates he can find
|
|
Before they leave the store, Inline makes Lenny buy a
along with wrist guards,
pads and elbow pads.
|
|
The salesperson makes sure all the gear, especially the helmet, fits properly.
The salesperson adjusts the helmet on Lenny, making sure there are
fingers of space from the top of Lenny's nose and the bottom of the helmet.
|
|
As well, Inline will also make sure Lenny takes
on how to skate, stop and even
safely. Inline will also be sure to give Lenny some helpful tips like:
1. Only cross the street when the walk sign is lit up, and all the cars have stopped.
2. Never cross in the middle of the street.
|
|
3. When you skate up behind people, always use a
or call out "passing on your left," to avoid an accident.

"Right on! You've worked hard to get this far, and you've learned so much. I just
got a message from Kip, and he's
waiting for you on the next page. Great work, brave one!" - Inline
